Bookmarklets

Bookmarklets are small utilities that make your browser more powerful. Basically a bookmarklet is some Javascript code that can be stored as a favorite/bookmark. When you later select the bookmarklet, the script code executes on the web page currently loaded into your browser. This means that you can manipulate (almost) any page you like, allowing you to do things such as highlight specific words, change the page's colors and fonts, generate a list of the links, sort tables by columns, translate selected words, etc. etc. All with a single mouse click.

Bookmarklets - Browser Power - My own home page on bookmarklets.

Anti-Scientology

Why is Scientology bad? Because it conditions its members into unquestioning submission while taking their money. The organisation also takes great effort to destroy any open criticism and pursue critics. Does this sound like a benevolent religion with the goal of helping mankind achieve "the highest state of awareness" and "total freedom"? I don't think so, so I would like to give the opportunity of exploring Scientology.

Operation CLAMBAKE - The Inner Secrets Of Scientology - You probably already know that Scientology is a scam designed for exploiting people and taking their money. But do you know how it works? Find out here - and discover the shattering insights (such as the consequences of the prehistoric actions of the evil alien space emperor Xenu) which you will acquire upon completing your super-expensive year-long Scientology course. I'd laugh if it wasn't so damn tragic.
The homepage of Tilman Hausherr - An extensive collection of useful anti-COS links.
Bare-Faced Messiah - The self-invented life story of L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the so-called Church of Scientology, has always been held in extremely high regard by the church (it's like a gospel to them). The only problem is that it's a bunch of lies and omissions, as illustrated by the on-line book "Bare-Faced Messiah" which tells the real story. It seems the church forgets to mention things like Hubbard was a megalomaniac and a notorious liar, decorating himself with fictitious titles (like "nuclear scientist"), he was declared persona non grata in Brittain, ran from fraud charges in France, orchestrated illegal large-scale destruction of public and non-public Scientology-critical documents and books in "Operation Snow White", and spent the last paranoid-scizophrenic years of his life hiding from the FBI. Actually Hubbard's life story is very entertaining, just not the way he would like it.
Scientology's Home Page - Of course, you should see Scientology's side of the story to make your own opinion. I especially recommend:

Newsgroups like alt.religion.scientology can also provide you with some information on Scientology, but you have to have patience. A lot of people for and mostly against Scientology want to give an opinion, and some tend to be on the edge of hysterical. The newsgroups are war zones.
